Thank you 2017!

Sweaty selfie - picture of Kat after her last workout of 20172017 has been quite the whirlwind, and saw a good 6 months of solid progress in my running, with 2 strong ultra races completed.  I couldn’t have done this without the team at TrainAsONE and Amanda Tress’s FASTer Way To Fat Loss program*.

A rocky start to racing in March saw me over heating on the Moonlight Challenge (something you wouldn’t think was possible in March in the UK), and so I took action to lose fat, build strength and get used to pushing myself a bit harder.

I lost weight, toned up significantly, and discovered a 6 pack, which helped me through the Race to the Kings with minimal issues.  I then put in a solid 9 laps (90km) at Equinox 24 with a recovery half marathon a week later.

Then I fell off the wagon.  Recovery and significant work travel flowed into a period of cold (I fought it off to only have a day of actual flu) and too much pizza and I suddenly discovered I was a lot squishier (2 extra inches in legs, butt and stomach) and had put on at least 1 stone. Luckily I caught it in time and with 10 days back on the FASTer Way To Fat Loss* plan as well as getting my run on again I am already toning up and feeling a lot more healthy.  It’s all to easy to think you can get away with eating junk food, but if you aren’t exercising enough then it all gets out of balance and you know you’re going to end up getting bigger.

Here’s a quick photo summary of my running & cross training stats for the year:

Tomorrow sees the start of 2018 and my focus is on doing as well as I can in the Centurion Running 50 mile races, along with the slightly longer (62 mile) Race to the Stones.  In order to do this I will be sticking as best I can to my TrainAsONE plan, and also to the workouts and dietary ethos of FWTFL.  Intermittent fasting and carb cycling suits me well and I can see it being a solid base for continuing to improve my fitness.  In addition I am going to restart my Yogaia classes to increase flexibility and also aid my strength building.  I’ll also be giving others a healthy kickstart by putting on monthly 30 day challenges to build strength and improve muscle tone.  You can join our January Squat Challenge by signing up here.  We start on 2nd January, so you have time to join us, and decide which of the 3 levels you want to do.

From a non-fitness perspective, I am looking to share more productivity and technology tips and freebies.  I have a OneNote Tip Series currently in production, so if this is of interest you can register to be notified when the OneNote tips are live.  You can also put in special requests if there’s anything you want to know about specifically.

I’m hoping to stay a bit more on top of blogging and content sharing throughout 2018.  I am already deep in the awesome Marketing Planner, and have a content schedule underway to make sure I stay on plan for sharing some cool stuff with you.  If you’re interested in a planner with Facebook group support and an online portal with marketing modules and challenges then you can purchase your own awesome Marketing Planner.  They come in hardcopy and digital versions and contain a tonne of useful information.  If you’re goal focused then there’s an awesome Goals Journal as well!*

What are you hoping to achieve in 2018?  Let me know in the comments!
